Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination (DI) is an international team-based, problem-solving program for Red Pine students in grades 1 through 5. Students learn and experience creativity, teamwork and problem solving. They also use improvisational and dramatic skills in their presentations.

Every year, the DI program reaches 100,000 students across the U.S. and in more than 30 other countries. Teams of up to seven students solve open-ended team challenges and present their solutions at a regional tournament each spring. If teams do well, they go on to the Minnesota State Tournament and can advance to the Global Tournament. DI teams are tested to think on their feet, work together and devise original solutions that satisfy the requirements of the challenges. Participants gain more than just basic knowledge and skills — they learn to unleash their imaginations and take unique approaches to problem solving.

For more information, contact Linda Denmark at Linda.Denmark@district196.org, or visit the National DI website or the Minnesota DI website.
