Think Summer 2020!
CAHOOTS math and language arts in one book … great value!
Parents, it is time to start thinking about summer and how you will help your children keep their math and language arts skills sharp.  CAHOOTS is a workbook correspondence program for math and language arts, designed to more closely match our district curriculum through an engaging and reflective approach to learning.  CAHOOTS should not be considered as a replacement for participating in summer school, if a child qualifies.  CAHOOTS registration information will be sent home with students the week of March 2.  Sample workbooks will be available for review in the school office in February/March.  The deadline for registration is April 3.  Cost is $42.  Watch for more information later this winter.

Red Pine Ski and Snowboard Club Dates:

Dates for 2020:

Influenza Info link

Please review this link as we are starting to see Influenza Like Illnesses and Influenza A.  The recommendation is students remain at home until they are fever free, diarrhea free, vomiting free for 24 hours without Ibuprofen or Tylenol.  This helps prevent spread and also helps your child return when they are feeling good and ready to take on the day.

Remember K-5 should have an extra set of clothes rolled up in their backpack for days where they get wet outside, spill syrup or milk, or any other type of accident where they are wet.

Layers, layers, layers!!! Brrr…. It’s incredibly cold today ~ spring like weather on another day.  Layers are best to keep your child comfortable in a learning environment.

I have some links below that may be helpful.  Please feel free to call with any questions.

Below is a link for Lice Advice.  Lice is present in our community and usually does not start in the school.  I recommend parents be vigilant on checking after sleep overs, large gatherings, places where your kids go over breaks or weekends and toss jackets and hats in a pile and so on.

Immunization link below for Dakota County.  If you or your child need to catch up on immunizations, please check out this link for immunization clinics.  You will NOT be turned away if you cannot pay.  Eligibility requirements for these clinics are: ADULTS AND CHILDREN WHO DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE, ADULTS AND CHILDRENT WHO HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE THAT DOES NOT COVER VACCINATIONS, CHILDREN ON MINNESOTA MEDICAL ASSISTANCE (MA), MINNESOTACARE, OR A PREPAID MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (PMAP), CHILDREN WHO ARE AMERICAN INDIAN OR ALASKAN NATIVE..

Dakota County Public Health partners with children’s Dental Servicesto provide dental care to children from low-income families.  Children’s Dental staff provide dental care in the county service centers in Apple Valley and West St. Paul.  Appointments are required.  Please call 612-746-1530.
