Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Testing

All Red Pine 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will complete an assessment for math called Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) starting next week.  They will be taking the assessment during their tech specialist time.   Your student’s MAP results will be sent home in November, 2019 and will reflect results from fall 2018 – fall 2019 based on fall to fall norms.  Grade 2 students will take MAP reading in January, 2020.

More than 1,200 school districts and educational partners use MAP to help all students learn. The assessment itself is administered on a computer and it adapts to the student's ability, accurately measuring what a child knows and needs to learn. In addition, MAP will measure academic growth over time, independent of grade level or age. Most importantly, the results educators receive have practical application to teaching and learning. MAP test results provide educators with timely access to information they can use for instructional planning and school improvement.

Please remember that these tests are only one source of information on student learning.  Achievement tests, teacher made tests, classroom work, teacher judgment and parent judgment are also important indicators of your child’s progress.  If you have any questions about this report, please contact denise.vonasek@district196.org.

Haddii ilmahaagu yahay fasalka 2-7, waxaa laga qaadi doonaa imtaxaan xisaab iyo akhris ah oo la dhaho qiimaynta waxaan lagu qiyaasayaa waxbarasho ahaan meeshuu gaadhay iyo horumarkuu sameeyey bilaha Sebtambar ama Oktoobar 2019. Ardayga natiijadiisa imtaxanka MAPka waxaa guriga loo soo diri doonaa November 2019. Najitadaasi waxay ku salaysan tahay dayrta (fall) ilaa dayrta (fall) ama sanad dugsiyeedka 2019 ilaa laga gaadhayo bilowga sanad dugsiiyeedka kale ee soo socda.

Tan ugu muhiimsan waxaa weeye natiijooyinka macalimiintu helaan oo kus saabsan siday u ogaan lahayeen siday wax u bari lahaayeen ama ardaydu wax u baran lahayeen. Natiijada imtixaanka MAP waxuu siiyaa macalimiinta waqti ay ku isticmaalaan macluumaadka oo ay u qorshayaan waxbarashada iyo horumarinta dugsiga.

Fadlan xusuusnow imtixaankani waa macluumaad kaliya oo ku saabsan waxbarashada ardayga. Guusha imtixaanada, imtixaanada macalintu sameeyaan, shaqada fasalka lagu qabto, xukunka macalinta iyo xukunka waalidka labaduba waa u muhiim horumarka ilmahaaga. Haddii aad qabto wax su'aalo ah oo ku saabsan rebodhka, fadlan la soo xiriir iskuulka ilmahaaga.

Parent/Family Member Drop Ins
While we certainly appreciate the many amazing volunteers we have that help us out at Red Pine, we'd like to remind family members to always let your child's teacher know when you are coming in to help. We would also like to remind families about how important instructional time is to us here at Red Pine. When a parent or family member just drops by to say "hi" to their child in the classroom, it is often a distraction to the class. You are all encouraged to come volunteer or have lunch with your child, but please try to avoid disrupting what is happening in the classroom. Thank you for understanding.
