Math Masters

Math Masters of Minnesota provides competitions in mathematics for thousands of fifth- and sixth-grade students. The competition is designed to promote excellence in thinking skills pertaining to mathematics and was founded upon research concerning the characteristics of mathematically gifted people.

The purpose of the program is to challenge students and schools to use critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities, and to give recognition for academic effort and achievement. Red Pine’s Math Masters program is for fifth-grade students. In preparation for the spring competition, all interested fifth graders will have the opportunity to participate in Red Pine’s Math Masters team and will receive weekly problems to practice. A selection test will be given in the spring to form the three teams of five students.
